Willkommen

The place to get single panels or scenes from the books of some of the world's greatest comic artists for all your illustration needs!

» Comicstills provides its users with an instant and easy access to inexpensive single panels or scenes from the books of some of the world's greatest comic artists.
» Instead of using the generic images other picture databases have to offer, with comicstills you can quote works of art with unique perspectives to further enrich your project. With or without words.
» The use of comicstills will allow your newspaper, magazine, advertisement, book, cd, whatever it is, to stand out from the standard look of print media. We also hope that with the rise of comicstills, comic art and comic creators will finally get the recognition they deserve.
» Despite the increasing acceptance in academic circles as well as in the art world, comic artists hardly make any money with their work theses days.
» This is in part due to the fact that comics cannot rely on a mass media gateway, as radio is for music and television is for film.
» As an outsider one simply does not get in touch with good comics unless they are passed on between friends or relatives. All of which leads to the current scenario in which comic artists have to work as illustrators to pay their bills and one is for example more likely to know the illustrations of Charles Burns than his outstanding comics.
» Our goal is to help change this situation:
Comicstills generates a far reaching advertising effects for the participating authors and their books, as every published picture comes with a mandatory credit to the author, title and publisher. And you benefit from the easy acces to the world of diversified and ambitious comic images for your illustration needs and your ideas!
» I did not understand a thing. How does this work?
