Marko Turunen was born in Kotka, Finland, in 1973. Today he lives in the winter sport city of Lahti and works as an illustrator and artist. He also manages a little publishing house and comicbookshop. Turunen graduated as a sculptor 1997 but started to draw comics because he had no money for any other kind of artistic behavior.
He won the first price in Kemi's nordic comic competition in novel series 2000 and the grand price in Luzern 2003. There are three comic books published in finnish and french, one in german.
He made illustrations for a couple of childrens books and for various newspapers and magazines. He watches a lot of television and plays some salibandy and football.
